Firth of Forth

[edit]

I wonder if the meaning of the Scots word 'firth' is widely known outside Scotland. Perhaps retain estuary within parentheses? Ishpoloni (talk) Ishpoloni (talk) 11:27, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I would guess that most English-speaking adults in the USA do not know what "firth" means. (Admittedly I am not a reliable source.)
By the way, the definition of "firth" seems to imply that there can be firths that are not estuaries. Mgnbar (talk) 13:15, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
